Marc Collin, mastermind of the band Nouvelle Vague, explores in his second film the genius loci of the royal residence city of Versailles, which has spawned essential bands of the French electro scene such as Daft Punk, AIR, Superdiscount and others.
Vom 8. bis 21. November 2022 präsentiert Soundwatch zum sechsten Mal Musikfilme: von handgemachten Klängen mit Gitarre oder nur Stimmen bis zu elektronischer und rein computergenerierter Musik.
Unsere Festival-Filme würdigen den Maestro der Filmmusik Ennio Morricone (in Kooperation mit dem Italian Film Festival Berlin), untersuchen einzigartige Musikszenen in Städten wie Coventry, Köln, Versailles, New York und Berlin, laden zum Wiederentdecken des Subharchords, einem in der DDR entwickelten Synthesizer, ein, setzen das multimediale Projekt über Singer-Songwriter Daniel Johnston fort mit einer Ausstellung und Konzert, und rufen zum Kampf gegen Mietenwahnsinn auf, mit dem Film zur Protest-Oper »Wem gehört Lauratibor?«, der das Festival eröffnet.

From November 8 to 21, 2022, the sixth edition of Soundwatch presents music films exploring : from handmade sounds with guitar or just voices to electronic and purely computer-generated music.
Our festival films pay tribute to the maestro of film music Ennio Morricone (in cooperation with the Italian Film Festival Berlin), explore unique music scenes in cities such as Coventry, Cologne, Versailles, New York and Berlin, invite you to rediscover the subharchord, a synthesizer developed in the GDR, continue the ongoing Daniel Johnston project with an exhibition and concert, and support the struggle against the housing crisis with the film about the protest opera “Wem gehört Lauratibor?” (Who Owns Lauratibor), which opens the festival.
