Wajib (OmU)

Wednesday, 18 February, 6:00 pm

Wajib

“Wajib” bedeutet soziale Verpflichtung.

Shadi, an architect who lives in Italy, reunites with his family to attend his sister’s wedding in Palestine and goes on a long journey to converse with his estranged father.

Palinale Film Festival Berlin

18.+22. Februar 2026

Palinale Film Festival Berlin

Palinale started in February 2025 with a ten days festival running on the same dates as the Berlinale.
We are a grassroots, multidisciplinary platform centering Palestinian voices through film, panels, exhibitions, and performances. We emerged as an alternative to Germany’s institutional art scene and operate entirely independently of state funding. Our programming is rooted in intersectionality – amplifying women, queer filmmakers, refugees, and marginalized voices from Palestine and the Global South.
We are an entirely volunteer-run initiative operating on a donation-based model (no ticket sales) and ensure all proceeds support Gaza directly.

For this second edition of Palinale, running from February 12th to 22nd, we have a program of 70 events across 15 locations in Berlin with:
– 34 screenings with Q&As
– 14 exhibitions, performances, and workshops
– 15 panel discussions with 60+ speakers
– 6 parties & networking events

We will publish the full program of the festival in the beginning of February.
