30 Jahre nach David Lynchs »Blue Velvet« rekurriert Filmemacher und Musiker (als Harry Rag bei der Punkband S.Y.P.H.) Peter Braatz auf originales Super-8-Material, das er und Frank Behnke (ebenfalls Filmemacher und Musiker, u.a. bei Mutter und Klaus Beyer), 1985 am Filmset in Wilmington/North Carolina aufgenommen haben. Damals waren beide Studenten an der Berliner Deutschen Film- und Fernsehakademie (dffb) und wurden von Lynch nach einem Briefwechsel eingeladen, die Dreharbeiten zu begleiten.
In »Blue Velvet Revisited« werden Bewegtbilder, Tonaufnahmen, neue Soundtrack-Musik (von Tuxedomoon, Cult With No Name, John Foxx), Interviews, Fotografien, Gemälde, Objekte und Requisiten zu einer neuen Dokumentarfilmhommage komponiert. Eine Neuinterpretation als Reise, um einen längst vergessenen Schatz zu heben.

30 years after the release of David Lynch’s “Blue Velvet”, filmmaker and musician (under his nom de punk Harry Rag in the band S.Y.P.H.) Peter Braatz revisited original super 8 footage which he and Frank Behnke (likewise a filmmaker and musician, for Mutter, Klaus Beyer et al.) shot on location at the Wilmington, NC film set. At the time, both were students at Berlin’s German Film and Television Academy (dffb) and were invited by Lynch after initial correspondence to document “Blue Velvet’s” production.
In “Blue Velvet Revisited”, moving images, photographs, sound recordings, new soundtrack music (by Tuxedomoon, Cult with No Name, John Foxx), interviews, paintings, objects and props form a documentary homage. A new interpretation as journey to recover a long forgotten treasure.
